Low Frequency Electromagnetic Shields
A
Primer On ELF Magnetic Fields (click here to read article)
PowerCET Canada - Better Technologies has
designed and installed many Low Frequency Magnetic Shields.
The shields have been installed in several different types of
environments including data centers, utility vaults, and
general office spaces, to name a few. Our shields have
ranged in size from a hundred square feet to over 8000 square
feet. Using a combination of proprietary materials,
attenuation ratios of up to 100:1 have been achieved.

We can provide detailed design drawings and
specifications for incorporation into your contract documents
or provide you with a complete turnkey supply and installation
service (including refit). We normally have materials in stock
at our fabrication facility located in Ottawa, Canada.
All custom cutting and bending is performed at this facility.
Read
our EMF article as it appeared in "Electrical
Contractor" magazine.
Please contact us directly to discuss your
shielding requirements.
Here are a few example of shields that we have
constructed over the past ten years.

Shielding services are usually provided as
a turnkey service, in order to solve your problem quickly and
with minimal interruption to your operations.

Classifying
Magnetic Fields |
 |
 |
Magnetic fields are classified by
their frequency, and as such, are measured in hertz.
This defines the number of times a waveform is
cycling per second. Therefore, a waveform cycling
sixty times per second is said to have a frequency
of 60 hertz. Power line frequency in North
America is 60 Hz.
Extremely Low Frequency (ELF)
range is 20 - 2,000 Hz
Very Low Frequency (VLF)
range is 2,000 - 400,000 Hz
